![]() ![]() ![]() Right now all I have installed are the nVidia basics (GeForce Experience and Control Panel). I have tried every version of Gpu Tweak II and NONE of them work correctly on my machine.ĭoes anyone out there have, or know where I can download this version of Gpu Tweak? I have been scouring the internet and can't find it anywhere. They directed me to buy a $50 recovery USB from a third party, and ended the chat before I could respond. And I didn't mind running my GPU fan full blast because that kept temps reasonable at around 50C.Īsus Tech Support were complete Dickbutts about it and just ended chat when I brought up the original version of GPU Tweak. And while it lacked options, at least it worked. I used to have this version of GPU Tweak installed. This typically remains the case until I reboot my machine, though occasionally the GPU fan will randomly decide to start working again. The problem is that after my machine has been on for a while, the GPU fan will stop spinning and won't spool back up. My laptop did not come with recovery media. I'm no longer running the OEM OS as I just upgrade to 2 Samsung Evo 850's in Raid 0. (It's triggered by the login.I have a G751JM. It might have to do with the longer amount of time it takes to log-in in to the new version of Windows. I think it's a different reason this time. Today I installed Creators Update, and it started the issue again. My machine worked since before I posted here. ![]() Well, here we are back to this aggravating thing. In the meantime, the short instructions are: When you configure it in Task Scheduler, use the Administrators group as the credentials, or it will silently fail. If anyone is still having problems with it, reply here and I'll post detailed instructions. It launches via the Task Scheduler, probably to get past the UAC startup barrier. It's not in startup because it's not supposed to be. However, it does seems to work every time I change the setting, but only for 1 or 2 startups. The program is not on msconfig nor is it on Startup, which is weird 'cause I had that in Startup Programs in Win 7. I'm wondering if anyone has the same problem here. Since I installed Win 10 Home on my new build, I just couldn't get GPU Tweak II to auto start when Windows starts. "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\GPU TweakII\GPUTweak.exe" So the Value Data contains the following: I've encapsulated the location of the application with " ". ![]() You can enable/disable through task manager also" you can use any name or or few words eg- my startup program.ĥ)double click new string value or modify.Ħ)under Value Data, write location of youe startup program. this will be the name of your startup program. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run (for all users)ģ)in toolbar goto Edit->New->String ValueĤ)name the new string value. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run (for current user RECOMMENDED) This method is used by most software like antivirus, torrents, etc.įollow the instruction to add your program: It makes your program start as soon as win starts. This is adding your program to windows regestry. "there is much better method to make program start with windows. Then I found instructions in a comment section for forcing the startup of applications from the registry. So simply, MS is doing something really really annoying there. If you have Win 10 Pro and up, you can simply go to group policy editor and disable (a thing I forgot the name) to let admin bypass the restriction. You will get a message saying the application cannot be opened using the administrative account. HOWEVER, now if you are using Win 10 Home, you'll most definitely run into problem that every Microsoft BASIC applications, like photo viewer, will not work. Simple fix is just go to registry and disable UAC. Have to manually launch Asus GPU Tweak every time I start the PC.Īfter dayz of blindly checking I finally found something that relates to the issue.īasically the UAC is preventing it from starting, probably due to think GPU Tweak is a not trusted software. Just wanted to say I am having the exact same issue. ![]()
